Sr. Master Professor Samuel A. Lucas is a San Francisco resident, born and raised in San Francisco's Mission District. He started training with Great Grand Master Ralph Castro in 1968 and has competed in various tournaments in the 70s and 80s, which also include the California Karate Championships and the Long Beach International. During his training with GGM, Sr. Master Professor Lucas was drafted and took some time off to serve in the Vietnam War and later received his Black Belt in 1978.  In 1994 Sr. Master Professor Lucas opened up his school, Leaping Tiger, and has trained numerous students during his tenure. Sr. Master Professor Lucas enjoys his day with his grandchildren, gardening and occasionally trains from time to time.
